Over the last month God has blessed Rachel and I. We are going to have a baby in April. We have been trying for the last 4 years and were about to give up. God truly works miracles.
Right after we found out Rachel was pregnant, my step father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thankfully it is treatable and we expect a full recovery. Then, some other personal news came about. I will not go into detail, but those close to me know what it is. With seminary and all the news, things are frustrating. I'm stressed, tired and even depressed at times. God never promised life would be easy, but he did promise to carry me through the trials in life. I'm excited about the new baby. I'm excited about seminary and pray that I'll be able to do what God has called me to.
Matthew 11;28-30 comes to mind. Jesus tells wounded people that if they would come to him he will carry their burdens. He will comfort them (my paraphrase). Remember, life is full of trials and heart aches. Life isn't always happy and fun, but at the end God will give you a reward if you trust Him with all your heart and might. Please pray for us. Please pray that God will work through me and in me. Please pray for our church home, that it will continue to be a light in a dark world.

Remember 9/11
13 years ago I was in my room asleep when one of my roommates came in and told me a plane had just hit the WTC. At first I thought it was a single engine plane and it was an accident. Right as I began to watch, the 2nd plan hit. Then I knew we were under attack by terrorists.
Words can't express the grief I felt for those who died in the attack. Many people were instantly face to face with their maker. My prayer is the families of the victims of terror will find comfort in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sorry
I was going to post my blog on infant baptism yesterday. I did not get to it, for that I apologize. I feel a strong need to pray for our brothers and sisters in Iraq and Syria. They are facing death at the hands of ISIS. I feel the need to hold on my blog. I would encourage you to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters facing persecution, not only in Iraq and Syria but all over the globe.

Heavy heart
My heart is heavy. Thousands of Iraqi and Syrian Christians are being persecuted by ISIS. I can't help but think of the pain and suffering they are going through.
In America we have million dollar church buildings, church budgets in the millions of dollars and pastors making more money than many people will ever make. It's sad really. I see news reports of Iraqi Christians being told to pay taxes, convert to Islam, or die.
Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
I can't hep but thing about how they are constantly facing all of what is mentioned in the verse. I will be praying for our brothers and sisters. Please join me.
